Successful lower cholesterol story?

If you have a successful and natrual way of lowering cholesterol story please share it. My doctor put me on Vytorin but I hesitate to start this because it's bad for the liver. I am trying to exercise more and eat less fat for now. I did Google "lower cholesterol" and see a lot of natural herbs ads but just wonder if they really work. Please share your lower cholesterol story here.
