Happy birthday to me
I can't believe I am 42 years old already. I still remmember the days when I first came to U.S. I was only about 13 years old but now I'm already 42! Oh boy, how time flies. Looking back I still see myself as the same old me. Nothing change except looking a lot more older. Let's concentrate on tasks at hand. I still have quite a few years ahead of me. I better finish the Updated Quick English Vietnamese phrases for you before I became too old and too lazy. Please reply to me on the articles with your opinion and will try to my best. I know some of you want me to put more word in "Quick English Vietnamese Phrases" and that is what I'm going to do. Happy birthday to me, la la la la lá la.

A very dear friend of mine is Vientamese, and I'm Argentinean. We communicate through this third party language ;)
She said something that she didn't translated into English... would you help me figure it out what did she say?
- em cũng rất nhớ anh
- chúc anh ngủ ngon
Thanks friend. My name is Agustin ;)

"Happy Birthday to you!" in generic Vietnamese is "Chúc mừng sinh nhật." To make it more personal you can use "Chúc em sinh nhật vui vẽ". Remmember to change "em" to match with whom you speak to. The above phrase should be approriate for a man wishing Happy Birthday to a woman. by the way "vui vẽ" mean happy. Let me know if you want an audio for that too.

"Em cũng nhớ anh" mean "I miss you too". and "Chúc anh ngủ ngon" is a pretty romantic way of saying "Good night". If you would translate it word for word it would sound a bit too fancy: "I wish for you a goodnight sleep"
In a romance situattion, remmember the "anh" here is important. Usually it shows more intimate and personal when a Vietnamese woman just calls you by "anh". Otherwise they would prefer to add your name in.
Anyway I hope you to hear that. Man I should start a dating service website.

Wow, I just found your great blog! I'm an intercultural trainer in California, and I am looking for resources and trainers to prepare business people going to live and work in Vietnam - how to understand the culture, daily living in HCM City, hiring and managing local Vietnamese employees. The people to be trained are coming from US, Malaysia and China to Vietnam. I will need 2 or 3 trainers based in Asia (preferrably Vietnam) and US (Calif, AZ, OR). If you are interested, email to info@chariscorp.com. Cam on!
